Isn't it about time that the New York Times endorses Obama?
What are they waiting for?

1. They're Still Making Up Their Mind
I suspect that they'll decide soon.

2. LOL. I'll dance naked in the streets of Chicago if the NYT endorses McCain.
I thought for sure the Times would offer their endorsement this weekend.

3. Very funny Manny. Seriously, tho, doncha think they're kind of
well, embarrassed that the paper in Salt Lake City has already endorsed Obama, and they're just sitting on their ass?

Not to mention their arch rival the Washington Post...

4. The two other big NY papers have endorsed.
The Rupert Murdoch rag, NY Post, endorsed McC in September. The other tabloid, NY Daily News, endorsed Obama today. The gray lady, NYT, will endorse Obama to great fanfare (but to nobody's surprise) probably next week-end.

5. I think everyone knows that the NYT endorsement is a foregone conclusion.

6. Let them wait until next week. They are the paper of record and their endorsement will
mean a good news cycle for that day for Obama. This is why I'm glad Powell waited as long as he did. Now Obama gets a day or two out of that where there is positive news about him.

8. Excellent reason. I hadn't thought of that. Of course, they didn't want to step on
the Powell endorsement story. It will take a little time to sink in but I think the talking heads are still a little dazed. Heh.

7. Who the hell cares? WaPo somehow just couldn't decide til yesterday.
That gives them low credibility in my book.

Once a guy running for president has joked about invading Iran and the major newspapers are still wondering whether to endorse him or his Democratic opponent, they've lost their credibility on the issue.
