David Gergen: This is like fireworks for the Dems - a CRESCENDO!
On CNN he mentioned the crowds in Missouri, Gen. Powell, the 150 million ~ and the air time Obama has purchased.

It sure is a great fireworks show this weekend ~ but election day will be a FINALE TO REMEMBER!

1. Do you notice how everyone is speaking as if Obama has already
won? That's heartening to me.

3. Yes but Obama is the first to say don't take your eye off the ball
He is still focused and very driven, that's what matters. He doesn't just want to slip by, he wants a decisive knock out. His campaign has recently stepped it up and that's great to see.

4. He will only win if everyone votes.
Call your local democratic office or Obama campaign office and volunteer to help with GOTV. Even if it is just for an hour or two. Every vote is needed.

6. I was appx. 50' from Obama at the WWI memorial yesterday evening, when he ended his speech, a sound
Edited on Sun Oct-19-08 10:54 AM by patrice
like NONE other that I have EVER heard erupted from the crowd (and this old Rock 'n' Roller has heard a LOT of sounds!). You could call it a "roar" but it was deeper than that and it wasn't scream because it was more joyous than that. It also wasnt a howl, because it was more musical.

You're right polichick, it was a CRESCENDO coming from a mighty mighty Organic organ and it was a thing of Beauty!

10. I will never forget.

How closely all of us stood. Touching. Everyone talking to everyone else as though we've always known one another. Many people carrying little babies close to their chests. The intensely physical substrate that flowed powerfully, calmly, toward the stage when he had finished his words.

It was Beauty - full. I will never forget.

12. Gergen makes a better argument for the dems
than the dem reps on CNN do. When he talked about how the dems have such a strong argument to combat the repubs attacks about "redistribution of wealth", he made so much sense. WHY DO THE DEMS not make these arguments!!! it drives me nuts.

13. Posts #6 and #10 in this thread might be among the most significant
posts yet to appear on DU. Please read them as they describe the response to true synchronicity among sane, caring people. These posts Clary show the way for America after awakening from the trance that has forced upon them by Republicanism.

As Obama has repeatedly said, "This election is not about me, or Senator McCain, it's about you".

The American people are smarter and more caring than they have appeared during the post three of four decades. The is a Revolution in progress, a very cleansing and constructive one.

Hello America. It's great so see that you are feeling more like yourself.

16. So true - and "cleaning" is how it has felt to work on the campaign...
I signed on in February, and by now everywhere I go around town there are my "Obama peeps" ~ people of all ages, backgrounds, colors, socio-economic groups and parties. America, as we CAN be!
