Video: http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/">Colin Powell Discusses His Endorsement of Barack Obama

Sorry, he strongly believes in Obama, but on Iraq he is wrong (edited). If he believes it was his duty to support Bush, then he's dead wrong.

On edit: His past statements appear to indicate the he knows it was wrong.

Powell's endorsement is a rejection of McCain, but he needs to understand that this war was morally wrong.

2. seriously... get over it... and let's look at the whole truth
Edited on Sun Oct-19-08 10:44 AM by Essene
What he did was about the same as every damn democrat who got up there LIKE CLINTON... and supported the threat of violence and supported bush's discretion. They all repeated the non-sense intel they had been given.

They all bought into the lies about the WMDs.

Powell has spoken out clearly on this... called for a (criminal) investigation into who in the White House buried the real intel.

Stop bashing colin powell.

He was used.

He has trashed the neocons. Trashed the Bush admin. Supported Obama.

3. Clinton supporting the lies and war is what lost her the Primary.
Americans are sick of these neocon collaborators. Back then, Powell wasn't merely a collaborator, he was one of the ringleaders.

4. yea, and i dont see her calling for a criminal investigation into the WMD lies... like powell has.
im sick of the powell bashing, personally.

he has more integrity on this point than a LOT of the democrats.

he got used.

the bush admin basically manipulated Powell into buying into the bogus Intel, then put their faces on the marketing of the war.

Tenet, Feith, Cheney and Rice are the ones we oughta be most unforgiving about...

7. I saw it.
I've been asking people to watch it. It has nothing to do with my response to his current statement.

9. consider this... he's also trying not to become written off so easily by the "pro war" base
He's not going to be caught in a "powell doesnt support the troops" trap.

Look at the entire story, tho, before making judgment of his politics on this...

8. If you'll recall Powell did not want to go to war without UN support
Edited on Sun Oct-19-08 10:54 AM by True_Blue
At least Powell has always been concerned about our standing in the international community. I think he was deceived by the Bush administration as were many.
