That rap was hilarious. Jason Sudakis as Todd Palin just about made me swallow my tongue.

I laughed at Sarah tonight. I still think her stance on every issue is wrong, she's mean and nasty, she foments hate at her rallies, she lies, she's a hypocrite. And she is a RIDICULOUS choice for VP (doesn't know anything she needs to know to run the country).

But, she was amusing on SNL.

She used to be a sports broadcaster, so I figured she'd be able to creditably read the cue cards.

1. How was she amusing?
She barely spoke, and looked like an idiot.

6. I found Sarah amusing because she played along as they trashed her.

Like all the politicians on there do. That's what SNL does ... they bring pols on and mock them, and the pols who allow themselves to be mocked to their face are funny.

Hillary was funny, standing with Amy Poehler. Sarah Palin was funny grooving to that crazy Alaskan rap.

Once again ... can't stand the woman. But I'm willing to give props to a pol who's willing to be mocked -- willing to rock out while a guy in a moose suit being "shot" in front of her ... while there are Eskimos and snow ... and a characiture of her husband on stage.

SNL didn't do anything special by "smacking her down." They smack down a lot of pols ... but only some pols are willing to come on and take their medicine.

(Now, of course, it's probably Sarah's unmitigated cockiness that drove her to do it).

Once again, for those who refuse to hear it: HATE the woman. But got a kick out of her appearance.

7. I'm with you.
and I'm afraid we might be in the minority. She handled it well and did what you need to do to go on SNL. Good for her. Still hate all her policies.

And now, back to our regularly scheduled economic crisis.

9. Of course she had a clue. Just like all the other pols have a clue when they go on there.
They have to go on SNL and allow themselves to be mocked, or they don't get any pop culture cred.

I predict the morning shows tomorrow will give her props and say she was funny. So prepare yourselves.

11. Yes but usually they *participate* in such mocking
Janet Reno busting through the wall yelling "IT'S RENO TIME!"
McCain has done a bunch of stuff on SNL (don't like the man but he did it)
Hillary made fun of herself when she went on (the laugh in particular)

Palin just sat there. She didn't DO anything.

15. Thank you, Bleedstreet. You're my only friend.
The fact that Sarah Palin, herself, was willing to utter the words "Caribou Barbie" ... Bwaahaaa

And DAMN ... I misspelled caricature. I have trouble with that word for some reason.

14. I thought McSame at the Al Smith dinner was funny,
but Palin on SNL not so much. I don't think she screwed up or anything... the whole bit just looked kind of forced. I thought it was Amy Poehler that made the rap bit funny, Palin sitting there throwing up arms just didn't do anything for me.

18. that was rather enjoyable
Did you notice they got her to say "I won't take any of your questions" and "I'm not going to do the script you wrote for me" echoes of her campaign in general and the VP debate?
