. . .the Freepers are going to hate it.

She made nice with Alec Baldwin (of course DUers are going to be pissed Alec made nice with her, but its much worse for them).

Even though she was on the show Fey's impression was spot on and damning (the Freepers are going to hate this)

Josh Brolin was joined by Oliver Stone in his opening monologue and the Freepers are going to hate this.

I'm happy with it.

2. I give Alec props for being nice to her!
And, while I didn't really think it was funny (I was thinking they would give her better material), my first thought was "Oh my god, the freepers are going to hate that he touched their precious Sarah!"

3. I think it's telling that the SNL writers didn't trust Palin with a single punchline.
She honestly didn't seem too pleased.

5. The funny part was there was nothing that "redeemed" her. They were brutal to her face
The only nice thing they said was Alec's "hot" comments. She even acknowledged that she doesn't answer questions. They skewered her to her face AND shamed her out of her accent.

Think she'll be back for Weekend Update later?

8. I don't think Alec playend nice with her at all
saying she's hotter in person isn't exactly playing nice ... he completely trashed her before that

they just depicted her as nothing but a pretty face who won't answer questions from the press ... I thought the whole thing was brilliant

his womanizing character at the end.

9. ok...don't flame me
I think she did fine (they didn't really give her enough material to screw up with), so good for her, but when she and Alec walked arm in arm....she looked really nervous. I thought "That face reminds me of someone..." It was the face that Britney would make when she was going really crazy and hanging around that photographer..lol.

10. No reason for blame. They basically humored her by having her on the show. . .
. . .but didn't write anything that would make her look good and added insult to injury by making her perform with one of the Right's favorite targets Alec Baldwin. LOL

Edited on Sat Oct-18-08 10:52 PM by ErinBerin84
Oh well...actually, I never really found the skits with Obama or Clinton in them to be that funny either. McCain was pretty funny in some of his, but creepy! The stalker thing was classic...yet again, frightening.

11. Faux news has been saying all week how this was gonna help Palin and their election
I'm West Coast so I haven't seen it yet.

Faux hates Alex and always give excuses about a palin nonexistent press conference.

What are your thoughts on the political implications and use of propaganda ?
You know all the TV news stations will play the good parts for Palin while ignoring
anything else.

13. LOL there were no good parts except for Baldwin telling her she was hotter in person. . .
. . .and her telling him in person that Steve Baldwin was her favorite.

14. Yeah, that was quite good.
Not "ha ha" funny or anything, but pairing her with Baldwin kind of neutralized any positives the McCain camp could spin out of this. She looked so pissed off to be there and this probably wasn't what she was expecting when she agreed to it.

15. This was absolutely brilliant, imo.
Josh Brolin ("W."), hosting.
Oliver Stone making a brief appearance.

(Already, at this point, the RW nuts hate the show.)

Fey's impression...
ALEC BALDWIN being the person to talk with Palin.
Palin's weak lines.

This whole thing was SNL trashing Palin to her face.
Absolutely brilliant.

17. I haven't seen it yet - it's only 9:45 here - but based on what I've read
Alec can afford to make nice given how she was portrayed.

Still...will anything make the freepers hate her performance? In their minds, won't it be Sarah making fun of Alec and Tina?

19. They trashed her non-stop. There was no "being nice" to her. Think about it.
Baldwin stood there and trashed her... as a "joke."

Then when he "knew" it was her, he simply said she was HOT... and escorted her outside.

There was nothing actually nice there at all... if you think about.

They trashed her before she came on.

They trashed her while she was on.

They trashed her/mccain afterwards.

they were cutting up Tina Fey though.

gag... now I've got to take a shower to wash the slime off of me....

for her brains?
