Why the hell would Powell bother go on to MTP if he didn't have an agenda
such as an endorsement? (with a bit of self-serving image rehab)

Hmmmmm?

1. I think the agenda is...
...a renovation of his personal reputation. This could be the first step along those lines...something that would begin to put the lemminglike behavior in service of the Bush Administration behind him.

2. Could he be sent out to endorse Gramps in a last-ditch effort?
Would he still do it? Liebermann was on the stmp with the geezer today. The RNC may well be putting the screws to these people to get out and wake up the base.

Sounds likely, if you ask me.....

"We've got serious enemies out there, we'll need a strong, experienced leader with war experience to keep on the "winning side"...Of course, they think if they send out a black man to endorse the flabby white one....

But really, just like all their other ploys to wallpaper over a pathetic candidate, this won't change anything.
