McCain and the RW are out to de legitimize Barack's Presidency
before it starts. All that cordiality from the Republican troll last night ought not obscure the vile things that St. John and his gang are spewing through the airways, radio waves and telephone lines.
Senator McGoo dragooned some dittohead into his dishonest assault on Obama's tax plan. Then when the foreseeable media scrutiny descends on the poor soul, McCain and his paid hacks take to the television to attack Barack for the result that he set in motion.
Meanwhile the three horsemen of the Apocalypse, Limbaugh, Beck, and Hannity , use their fascist funded microphones to raise the false specter of ACORN subverting our democratic processes by using Mickey Mouse to steal the election.
And if that isn't enough, the Republicans unleashed their robocalling juggernaut to paint Barack as a radical, terrorist baby killer.
John McCain, you can schmooze with a Prince of the Church and play the role of a decent person, but your acts give the lie to the sincerity of your words.
America cannot afford to have the new president crippled as he starts his term. The RW never accepted the legitimacy of Clinton's election and acted accordingly. Even though Clinton was a fairly successful administration, the sideshow of impeachment scarred not only Bill's legacy but helped distract the country from many growing threats including Bin Laden.
Senator McCain has been both shameless and shameful in waging his campaign. His continuance of these rotten techniques is proof positive that his slogan of putting country first is just another Republican lie.

1. Let 'em try....

They will be in too much of a minority to bring Impeachment again.

After 2000 and 2004, we'll have no patience for listening to them.

4. I just remember all we've had to endure
as a result of not prosecuting all of the Iran-Contra felons.

2. Remember Carter? Remember Clinton. Hell...
remember JFK! I hope the Obama team has a plan for handling all of the sh*t that will be coming at him once he is elected.

7.  I have total confidence in Obama and his team but I get a
bit frustrated when folks are taken in by a couple of meaningless gestures at a political dinner.McCain has sunk as low as a person can sink and the hypocrisy on display last night is stomach turning. Only someone as craven as McCain could hire someone who attacked his wife and child to do the same kind of thing to his opponent.
Your comments about JFK Carter and Clinton are spot on. The RW lie industry that canonized Reagan works overtime to vilify our folks.
The actions they will undoubtedly take to undermine Barack may nor go so far as impeachment, but, rest assured, the attacks will be dirty and unrelenting. The roots of fascism are taking hold and McCain, the faux patriot is enabling their spread. What is particularly pitiful about this for McCain is that the people he has sold out to, despise and revile him.

9. Oh, I forgot to mention
WATERGATE! Republican election fraud. And we're suffering today because some of those same operatives are still in the game.

5. He's going to start with 25% of the country ready to impeach him.
I predict Clinton-style smearing from day one.

10.  I agree. My point in the OP is that McCain is setting the
foundation for the continuing assault on Barack. The attacks are not designed to win votes for McCain. All the polls show that these attacks are losing votes for him. McCain is allowing himself to be the spearpoint of another RW effort to destroy a Democratic administration.

6. All ACORN does, is collect applications and turn them in to the
local court houses. The election boards of those counties go through those applications and verify them. They then send the approved registration to the voter. Am I right? Do I understand this?

These applications should be filled out as correctly as possible, but I understand that even the obviously fraudulent applications of registration must be turned in.

The overwhelming amount of application would be off putting to the election boards but that should not be ACORN's responsibility. THey should however be responsible for trying to obtain the most accurate applications.
