McCain: "The response from Senator Obama and his campaign yesterday was to attack Joe."

http://blogs.usatoday.com/onpolitics/?loc=interstitialskip

<snip>

"We had a good debate this week," McCain said (his complete remarks are here). "You may have noticed -- there was a lot of talk about Sen. Obama's tax increases and Joe the Plumber. Last weekend, Sen. Obama showed up in Joe's driveway to ask for his vote, and Joe asked Senator Obama a tough question. I'm glad he did; I think Senator Obama could use a few more tough questions.

"The response from Senator Obama and his campaign yesterday was to attack Joe. People are digging through his personal life and he has TV crews camped out in front of his house."

We can't find a quote from Obama that qualifies as an "attack" on Joe (Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher). The response we got from Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton to McCain's accusation was this:

"John McCain is mistaken about why television cameras are camped out in front of Joe's house. After 26 years of ignoring the needs of middle class Americans, John McCain is now obsessed with Joe the plumber in a last minute attempt to convince voters that he's "in touch" with what's going on in their lives. Unfortunately, it's too little too late for the millions of middle class families who are struggling because of George Bush and John McCain's disastrous economic policies."

6. No. In using John McCains own words, that would be John the Liar.

5. Yeah, Obama made those news crews go to Joe's house
You did by not vetting him before you trotted him out as a symbol.

8. McCain can't even get through the second sentence without lying ...
Obama didn't go into that guy's driveway ... Joe said it in an interview that he heard all the noise and HE came out to the street to lie to Obama ...

9. Here's the key, Mr. McCain -- Obama SHOWED UP in Joe's Neighborhood
Where were you? Why won't you GO to DIRECTLY to the places that you are supposedly are more "in touch with".
