I said "I heard a rumor Colin Powell might endorse Obama." My friend's Republican roommate: "Well, of course he will--they're both black!"

You know what--I'm deleting this thread, I have a feeling it'll be misinterpreted by more people.

I would not be surprised, and Powell's endorsement will not be about race (although the "base" and the RW media will try to characterize it as that). Powell lost a hell of a lot of respect after he went to the UN and pressed the case for the Iraq war with bogus data the Bushitas gave to him. Heard reports that Powell was furious after he found out and that was one of the driving factors that convinced him to leave after the 2004 election.

4. What will it take to get DUers to think POLITICALLY? Powell is HUGE for Obama

it doesn't matter if DUers don't like him.


Powell's endorsement will dominate media coverage for at least two days. In a way that EMBARRASSES McCain and BOOSTS Obama.


Quit thinking about your own personal feeling about Obama and see the big picture here.
