Obama was good, McCain was better....
Edited on Thu Oct-16-08 08:54 PM by TeamJordan23
in picking joke writers. Even Obama was LOL during McCain's speech.

Oh well. I say we lose .0001% of the vote. So, we win by 9.999%

Overall, entertaining speeches by both.

Not even. Obama, born in a manger, name swahili for "that one," palling around with NY elites...

38. This event wasn't supposed to be a competition - I agree
Obama was very funny and McCain seemed like he was feeling defeated - though I had no idea McSame could be that funny.

4. some of Obama's jokes were lame
but McCain's "reaction shots" were pretty funny....he looked awkward. Obama looked more genuine in laughing at McCain's jokes.

23. yeah, McCain looked like he was taking it personally...
Obama was genuinely laughing at funny jokes, regardless of the target. When Obama said the AIG joke, though, for instance, McCain looked very uncomfortable.

Still, to be fair to McCain, it's easy to laugh at jokes aimed at you when you've got a double-digit national lead. Obama's laughing all the way to the White House. ;-)

12. I think considering the times, during these economic unstable times,
Barack was more apropos....low key.

McCain reminding everyone that Barack was Black and at one point Black folks were allowed into the White House was somewhat uncomfortable for me......but some not sensitive to those things, might have found that hillarious.

I think it's hard to say something like that unless you really mean it, and to me, it just didn't ring true.

31. You're insane. eom
P.S. Sorry, you are. His jokes we're just as good if not better. The jab at Gouliani about the lipstick and the GOP primary was my favorite.

P.S.S. More importantly, Barack was pitch perfect in acknowledging Hillary, McCain and everyone else. He also brought us back to the reality and called for a spirit of selflessness. McCain said nothing.

For once Grampy seemed like a good sport, at least for a few minutes, even though we all know what a weasel he is at heart. Good fun. Grampy was funny, Obama was LOL hysterical. The man can really deliver a joke.
