I hope Letterman has the balls...
...to go after McCain tonight. I'll be recording both Letterman and Leno (Biden). I fear, however, that Letterman will back off and be "respectful".

5. It's just an expression.
Don't be so over-sensitive.

Host Grills Senator On Palin Decision, Ayers References

NEW YORK (CBS) ― An extremely apologetic and grateful Sen. John McCain finally arrived at the Ed Sullivan Theater in Manhattan Thursday to appear on The Late Show with David Letterman, and he wasted no time in explaining what caused the gaffe that led to him canceling his last scheduled interview.

"I screwed up," McCain admitted. "I screwed up. What can I say? It's been reviewed pretty well what happened."

~snip~

"Absolutely, she has inspired Americans. That's the thing we need. We need inspiration, we need courage," McCain said. " need someone to say, 'This is a person who is an inspiration to us, this is a person who has done so many things that are very unusual.' I think America is crying out for change and she represents the kind of change we need."

~snip~

McCain appeared a bit uncomfortable with the repeated questioning though he held his composure and sense of humor throughout the interview. Things didn't get easier for the presidential nominee when Letterman asked him about the significance of bringing up Barack Obama's relationship with William Ayers. Letterman compared it to McCain's relationship with Gordon Liddy, who served time in prison for his role in the 1972 Watergate scandal.

"I know Gordon Liddy, he went to prison, he paid his debt as people do. I'm not in any way embarrassed to know Gordon Liddy," McCain said.

7. So Gordon Liddy is different than Ayres??? Ayres is practically
a humanitarian now... Liddy isn't he just a radio talk show host?

Ayers didnt pay for his crime...I know I know, he was never charged. But he didnt leave his pound of flesh, therefore it's different. :eyes:
