3. No, McCain is Yosemite Sam!! He's got the rage and the bluster down pat.
Anyway, everybody knows Cheney is Elmer. Obama is definitely Bugs Bunny though

11. I can't let W be Daffy. I actually like Daffy. I'll have to watch my looney tunes classic dvd again
to place W. Something creepy and vindictive and shallow and entitled. Looney tunes may not have created a character that would fit, something about not being good for kids maybe.

21. That's a good one. Mindless and programmed and shallow and destructive.
Ultimately forgettable. Yeah, that works!

7. Bugs (Obama) standing there, with a big, toothy smile,
chewing a carrot, saying "What's up, Doc?"

Elmer Fudd (McCain), in his ear-flap hat, fully frustrated, "oooooh that wascally wabbit!"

10. Some may ask "Who is the Ben Franklin of today? Where is our Samuel Johnson?" I say "Watch MSNBC"
Such cultured observation. Such erudite wit. Or it would be, if he hadn't stolen it from a DU thread a month ago.

23. there's probably truth to it as a cultural archetype
"And, like the slave, he has a supremely cynical view of the social world, since he sees it from below. <...>

"The present-day animated cartoon hero, Bugs Bunny, is, like Brer Rabbit, the meek suddenly grown cunning--but without Brer Rabbit's facade of politeness. "To pull a Bugs Bunny," meaning to spectacularly outwit someone, is an expression not infrequently heard in Harlem.
" <in 1948>

24. Barack is like Bugs in some important ways
1. He never starts the fight, but always winds up winning it

2. He is unfailingly smarter than those who try and best him

3. He NEVER loses his cool and always plans ahead

4. Who wouldn't want to be as cool as he is?
