Joe the Plumber... REAL FIRST NAME IS SAM
Just saw this on CBS Good Morning America a couple of minutes ago.. so no link yet. They were joking about the fact that Joe the Plumber isn't even really named Joe.. that his real name is Sam.

Just thought you all might want to know.. for people trying to search for him, his voter registration, etc. Good luck!

8. That makes me very uncomfortable!
I will still think of him as "Joe."

2. I think they checked because someone found this out last night
They found some records of his divorce papers or something online and the name was Samuel Joseph Whatever. Its funny because the court papers looked like they were for some back taxes. Someone here must have the link, it was posted on some blogs.

5. Yup.. that's what they said..
but it's probably why people aren't finding much on him.. because his legal name is Samuel Joseph. ;)

7. Somebody needs to check Arizona Voter Regtistration
With his connections to Charles KEating and a relative in Ohio, he may have been a ringer brought in by McCain from his home state.

11. I'm Sure Jennifer P Wurzelbacher
will be getting some calls from the media now looking for additional....input on the defendant.

Are the $10 "battered women" charge and the $32 "shelter" charge something everyone pays into, or does it indicate something about the particular case?

13. I wish I had the answers to your questions...I'm curious too.
Someone posted on another thread about his divorce in 1997 and something about wife-beating charges. I hope the media examines Joe the Plumber with a fine-toothed comb.

21. LOL street name
If doing a search the street name should be Tanque Verde not Tang Ve Verde! (I hope the ex doesn't have one of those Chee HUA HUA dogs.)

One more piece of evidence against Voter Purges.

12. Then he shouldn't have started doing interviews with rightwing outlets
And he should have said that he didn't appreciate McCain using him as an example. He had to know that people were going to start doing some fact checking-- he's a plumber, he should know all about the tubes.

15. Well, I think he may not understand how bad this can get.
I think liberal bloggers should leave him alone, except just quoting him, like his views of social security. They are out of the mainstream.

20. I actuallly agree with you, but it's a beast that cannot be tamed once it's out of the cage
People on the left and the right love to be the ones who find out the story behind the story. That used to be the job of investigative journalists, but since those don't seem to exist any longer, people online have to take up the slack. Unfortunately, some well-meaning diggers don't know when to draw the line.
