Holy fuck! You mean we might actually win this thing?!?!?!
I know, I know ... the GE is still over two weeks away ... anything can happen ... don't get complacent, yada, yada. Well believe me, I'm not. I'm prepared to get crushed. In fact, I'm rather used to it by now.

But tonight, after the third and final debate -- after McCranky's last big (failed) chance to turn this election around -- it finally began to sink in:

WE MIGHT FUCKING WIN.

I can't even begin to describe my emotions right now. It's sort of a mix of shocked, nervous, giddy and elated. What's even better is that, not only is the Democratic candidate very likely to win, the Democratic candidate is one that I have liked and admired for years, ever since I heard him speak that fateful day at the Democratic National Convention in 2004. I thought, "Wow, this guy is something special. I can see him as president one day." The more I came to learn about the junior senator from Illinois, the more I began to like him. He spoke to me. He spoke FOR me. He was someone with whom I could relate. He was genuine. He was smart -- no, make that bloody brilliant. He was knowledgeable. He was shrewd. He was stately and level-headed -- calm and cool, but not a pushover, not by any stretch. He demonstrated that he knows how to roll with the punches and spring up fighting again. He's not an angry man; rather, he's forceful, but in a thoughtful and prudent way. In short, he's everything I could want in a Democratic leader. And I am proud to be his supporter.

And to think ... for the first time, a candidate that I like and admire this much -- who also happens to be a biracial man with a scary "Arab"-sounding name, in a country still (sadly) full of too many bigots and hate mongers -- might actually overcome the immense odds and RISE to the TOP as LEADER OF THE FREE WORLD?

Wow. Just fucking wow.

Yes, I am drunk.

Carry on!

:bounce:

4. Don't feel bad. Feel vindicated. Feel free, and unchained.
I will never, ever let the repukes in my life (most of them close family) forget the tragedy that has been the past eight years, especially their virulent and ignorant support of it.

The only real problem is, the nightmare of the past eight years has left an indelible mark on our future. Such a huge mess, the blame of which, I will personally and ceremoniously lay at the grave of the Republican party at every opportunity.

Come the morning of November 5th, analysts will be stunned to discover that there was a 15-point "Bradley effect" -- and that it mysteriously occurred only in swing states.

:sarcasm:

6. Haha ... At this point, I'm even thinking that (shhhhh) landslide
might be a possibility. What a glorious day it will be for this country!

8. Yeah! Isn't it great!
Too bad the country has to be completely ruined before the American people will vote sensibly. Oh yeah, and I can't wait to tell whining Republicans that it is time to SHUT THE FUCK UP AND GET BEHIND THE PRESIDENT!

9. This will be the 6th presidential election I've voted in.
If it's the first time the candidate I vote for actually wins... well I guess I'll have to get drunk... just like the first 5 times I voted for president.
For once I won't have to dread regaining consciousness...

11. On second thought,
I think I was out of the country in November of '92. So 5th time, methinks.

14. I'm not used to backing winners either. In fact, I'm still a little bit
heartbroken over Howard Dean losing the primaries in '04 (I voted for Kerry in the GE, but not with much enthusiasm).
