McCain was trying to be spontaneous and 'playful' with the moderator and the audience after the debate was over. It didn't go over well. He looked undignified and bizarre.

Eccentricity can play well in the Senate (some of them are pretty strange people) but this was neither the time nor the place for him to make funny faces. It was unpresidential and tone deaf coming off his nasty debate persona.
