1. I think the economy is a huge reason Obama is ahead

Gore did get the majority of votes in 2000, but he ran on a very good economy. However, enough people (not me) thought Bush was more likeable than Gore that Bush was able to steal the election.

My point is that Obama is way more likeable than McCain so some of Obama's lead is due to his personality.
