Does anyone know the exact text of the "women's health" quote?
I'm going to be on the local news in the morning, giving a recap of the debate. I was so disgusted that I had to walk out of the room when he made that comment. Can anyone tell me exactly what he said? All I remember is he made scare quotes around "women's health" as it pertained to abortion.

1. Is this what you are looking for?
On late-term abortions:

OBAMA: "With respect to partial-birth abortion, I am completely supportive of a ban on late-term abortions, partial-birth or otherwise, as long as there's an exception for the mother's health and life, and this did not contain that exception. And I attempted, as many have in the past, of including that so that it is constitutional. And that was rejected, and that's why I voted present, because I'm willing to support a ban on late-term abortions as long as we have that exception."

McCAIN: "Just again, the example of the eloquence of Sen. Obama. He's ... health for the mother. You know, that's been stretched by the pro-abortion movement in America to mean almost anything. That's the extreme pro-abortion position, quote, health. But, look, Cindy and I are adoptive parents. We know what a treasure and joy it is to have an adopted child in our lives. We'll do everything we can to improve adoption in this country. But that does not mean that we will cease to protect the rights of the unborn."

10. I want to see McAnus give birth
If something the size of a bowling ball came ripping out of McCain's wrinkled old ass, he'd scream bloody murder to make abortion a Constitutional right.

Not every woman wants to be a brood mare. Assholes.

He essentially mocked the mother's "health" in a pregnancy.

He obviously doesn't have a clue what women go through.

I had an ectopic. I consulted with MY DOCTOR and while I was really sad about not having a viable pregnancy, we chose the best treatment so that I wouldn't have a rupture, internal bleeding and damage that would prevent me from being able to have a child. After that treatment... I got pregnant again and now have a beautiful son, that I absolutely adore.

my cousin had a PROM (premature rupture of membranes) pregnancy - her water broke at 18 weeks - she was pregnant with twins. it was the worst thing she every went through in her life. she laid in bed for days trying to save that pregnancy. She got an infection and her life was seriously at risk. they had to take the babies or she would have died. Her son would have lost his mother.

McCain mocks it. he sucks.

12. My sympathy and thank you...
I wish that McCain could read letters like yours and other woman. I almost fell out of my chair when he mocked the 'health' of pregnant woman.

An exception for the life of a mother should always be included. Coldness of his words were unbelievable. I think even Bush would have done better and that's saying how bad McCain is.

Chris Matthews deserves a note of thanks from us for that -- he noticed, he cared, he didn't let it go. This is about our LIVES.
