4. really? I think that a lot of DUers like him.
I mean, sometimes he says things that I REALLY disagree with (he is a Republican after all), but I don't think you could accuse him of being a shill.

12. really? I have seen him refer to McCain and "our party" (meaning Republican)
He does come off like an independent though...I think his website says that he "put partisanship aside" to work with Clinton, which made me think he was a Republican.

I like him a LOT
I think he's the most objective pundit on TV these days. I may not always agree with him but I always believe that he's calling 'em exactly as he sees 'em.

20. According to Wiki he is independent (but then again, it's wiki)
Either way, he is never partisan and always insightful. He is one of my favorite pundits.

(and I like to listen to his voice. It's so nice and soft. :hide:)

8. I love Gergen. He is a moderate, middle of the road kind of guy.
I have liked him since he helped Clinton way back in the 90's. I loved when he said that McLame reminded him of the nasty personality of Bob Dole. He brought up McInsane's anger. Gergen never spins. You may not agree but he gives his honest opinion all the time.

9. Nah. He's a thoughtful guy. Met him a couple of times. I think he has seen the light.
I stand up for him around here, and not many accuse me of being a reich winger. He's a thoughtful guy. I'll bet you this: Even those that "hate" him listen to him when he starts speaking. One of the best of the talking heads (my favorite, ironically, is John Dean. Where are you, John?)

18. He was brutalized here in 2003 due to some of his comments about the war ...
Edited on Wed Oct-15-08 10:39 PM by Trajan
And I tended to agree with those DUers ... but even then: He is level headed and pragmatic ... I do appreciate his opinion, even if I dont agree with him ....

He doesnt resort to the nasty namecalling that other republicans fall into ....

28. "Where are you, John?"
Well, he was in Little Rock as you typed that. I got to hear him lecture last night. It was great. He mentioned that he loves being on Countdown and prefers MSNBC. He's just been busy with his new book. Get him on, Keith!

7. I like Gergen. And I think it's very telling that he's saying this. He usually has a lot of insight
to give. I guess the McCain campaign really is that hopeless.

26. I'm a lawyer and would be fine trying a case in front of a judge like Gergen
He has his opinions, but he knows his job is to be objective. Anyone sensible can live with that. One can disagree with him and not find him disagreeable in the least.
