I think McCain's attack on John Lewis insured
The AA vote will go more than 95 - 5 against him.

He is an amoral slug.

1. He was trying to get Obama to talk race.
Of course, Obama didn't fall for it. He countered and made McCain look petty.

14. And he flat out LIED when he said that he condemned all the racial crap
from his campaign. He has NOT done that and for him to say that absolutely infuriated me.

2. why does McCain lie about the situation - he plays the victim -
I wanted Obama to say - hey, didn't you say Lewis was one of 3 people you admired the most?

John IS a victim...
“I’m hurting and angry. My feelings are hurt and I’m angry. It’s not fair that people don’t like me.” John Martyr McCain

“People don’t care about our feelings, John. They care about the issues.” Barack the next president Obama

5. That was nasty considering Lewis took back some of what he said.
And McCain flat out lied that the Obama camp never responded to Lewis' remarks.

9. He knew that Lewis already reissued a statement. It was a pathetic attempt
to race bait. And he FAILED as usual.

12. why is he attacking and alienating everyone who could possibly vote for him?
it's so bizarre. Women, immigrants, Musilims, educated voters, independents who despise the "culture wars." All he has left is the fundy vote and the paranoid folks terrified of diversity vote - these will only take you so far.

13. And Obama handled that remark brilliantly.
Something along the lines of: "I don't think the American care as much if our feelings are hurt." BOO-YAH!!!

15. It was subtle.
Like a litigation trainer told me years ago - use an icepick, not a sword.

16. I'm glad he brought that up
It backfired in his face.

If I was Obama, I would have asked McSame if he thought I was the King Of All Blacks and was personally responsible for everything every black person ever said.

McSame looked foolish on that one.

17. McCain owes Rep Lewis an apology and a little gratitude...
Imagine for one moment how bad it would have been if Lewis didn't step in to stop the hate rhetoric when he did.
