What gets me about the character of Obama...
is that this man is the epitome of a good person, with no character flaws in sight and somehow the lunatic fringe wants to create this bizarre narrative of him.

No where I've I ever read where he has made comments or made beliefs known that he is a far, far leftist or that he has way out of left field political thoughts.

The guy came from a broken home, went to school and did all the right things - married to the same woman for almost 20 yrs, two wonderful children, speaks well of others, polite, all of it. In a way the epitome of the American dream and the right just hates it.

Last night Olberman played a nice clip of where the crowd started booing McCain and Obama put a stop to it. Stuff like that shows tremendous character.

6. For me? No.
For millions of Americans? Yes. Unfortunately, yes.

8. Isn't that the inherent argument of racists?
Their argument is that being black (or other variations from WASP) means you are inherently "bad" in some way - character, intellect, morals, etc.

It's of course not based on fact or logic, but not many of their arguments are. No one is saying their right, but no one can convince them otherwise, either.

It's a sad state of affairs and depresses me to no end.

3. I started softening toward Obama (after having been looking at him through
my Biden Enemy filter) when I heard Michelle say, in SUCH a heartfelt way -- I know this man, he is a GOOD man.

And I think those in Washington who are getting to know him are learning the same thing about him.

He's earned my trust.

5. right wingers are scared shitless and i think mad at McCain himself, they really didn't
accept him imo. And of course Obama is black so add that on the pile and you can see why they're acting even more hateful than last time out.

7. The same with Gore and Kerry - so they used the corpmedia to create and push lies about them.

What is different is that in post Katrina, post Iraq Civil War, post Record Home Foreclosure America, the attacks on Obama haven't a chance to make a difference. But, MORE importantly, the state parties and their infrastructures have been rebuilt and strengthened the last 4 yrs after a decade of neglect. If past DNC chairs had done this Gore or Kerry would be in the WH today - so it really wasn't the character assassination that worked - it was massive election fraud that put and kept Bush in office.
