Court orders Ohio to verify newly registered voters. *** Please read!
In a not so surprising display of the pot calling the kettle black, the Ohio GOP accuses Dems of election fraud and "disenfranchising Republican voters" sues SOS, and overturns her appeal.

Again, they are stopping at nothing to steal it. May these maggots rot in hell.

Oct 14, 2008 - CINCINNATI - A federal appeals court on Tuesday ordered Ohio's top elections official to set up a system by Friday to verify the eligibility of new voters and make the information available to the state's 88 county election boards.

The full 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati upheld a lower court ruling that Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner must use other government records to check thousands of new voters for registration fraud.

A three-judge panel of the 6th Circuit had disagreed last week, but the full court's ruling overturns that decision.

Ohio Republican Chairman Bob Bennett accused Brunner of pursuing a partisan agenda and said "her delay in providing this matching system leaves little time for election officials to act on questionable registrations."

Bennett said Brunner was "destroying the public's trust in Ohio's elections system. Her shameful actions to disenfranchise Republican absentee voters, block the transparency of early voting and refuse the proper verification of newly registered voters have rightfully damaged her credibility as a nonpartisan election administrator," he said.

There are no words to describe what hypocritical, lying scum these Republicans are. FUCKING CRIMINALS. :banghead: :grr:

1. Bennett is still pissed Jenny Brunner fired his ass from the Cuyahoga BOE
She offered to give him a public hearing (at which 2004 would come up)
and he walked away.

2. Suppose the Social Security number in a voter record...
...doesn't match any Social Security numbers in the Social Security database.

Can they check the paper registration form to see if a data-entry clerk made a typo?

4. I'm not sure about this but..
I think SS#'s are checked in the first place as are addresses, Date of Birth's, etc., If they do not match the BOE can contact the voter and the voter can fix their registration. Or if there are discrepancies the voter can be challenged and forced to vote with a provisional ballot.

5. If they were already checked, why is the court ordering them to..

3. Let's see how
Brunner responds. I am sure she has a backup plan. The GOP is trying to run out the clock and make the state spend a lot of money to get this system in place.

7. As long as each voter introduces them to their lawyer it should go fine.
