On C-Span This AM... ZOGBY POLL O 48 -- M 44, Now I Don't Know
how their stats are different from yesterday's CBS poll of 53-39... but this is a VERY GREAT difference! Dates from 10/10 to 10/14, sampling of 1200 voters.

You can discuss... need to go to work! WHY the large difference, and does anyone know how many were polled from CBS??

I have said for a long time... DON'T get over confident because just giving out these polls make one side or the other "feel good!"

Later!

1. I want to know the internals.
CBS's were slightly in favor of Obama, I'm guessing.

I also suspect that Zogby's internals might favor McCain a bit.

So the truth is probably somewhere in-between.

2. Thank you for your concern.
Zogby does push polls and is a RW rag. Almost every other major poll has Obama up by 9 - 14% with the average of them all (including Zogby) being ~+7%.

No one is getting "over confident", but people shouldn't go off the deep end with outlier polls. Zogby has and always will be an outlier.

3. Why don't you keep it to yourself and go to pollster.com or RCP and look at the whole
body of polling.

4. Doesn't make sense
Zogby may be full of it, but do be THAT much different from the poll that had Obama up 14%...it just doesn't make sense. Something isn't right.

5. I think they were right about Gore at the last moment, but maybe they "let" their FINAL poll ...
be correct so they would gain credibility. Meanwhile, maybe their in-between polls suck.

6. Partly because of party IDs.

CBS poll questioned 34.6% Democrats, 27.6% Republicans. The difference Zogby uses is much smaller.

7. Just because....
Zogby is associated with the repubs does not mean they are wrong. I believe they were correct in 2000...closer than any other major poll. It could only be a 4 point lead for Obama...even so a 4 point lead can still amount to a electoral blowout.

11. He Had Gore 48-46 In 00
Gore won 48.9 to 48.5 or so...He wasn't as wrong as everybody else...

He was way off in 04 and to make his prediction worse he didn't release it until after people voted...

9. There's nothing wrong with feeling good
Heck, I felt good when Zogby said the night before the election that Kerry was going to win. Now I just know to ignore him. :)
