The poll is probably an outlier. Probably, Bush is about 5 points ahead of Kerry, similar to what Kerry was ahead of Bush after the DNC.
The problem with this outlier, however, is that the media will latch onto it, like they do all outliers. Remember how that one outlier CNN/Time/USAToday poll had Kerry 3 points behind Bush after the convention, even though ALL the others had Kerry 3 or 4 or 5 or more points ahead? Well, that outlier became the media meme. And the story's going to become "Bush had a successful convention" and "Kerry did not."
We shouldn't be in panic mode, we just have to continue to fight back and do well in the debates, and I think we'll pull ahead and win. But the race is not lost or won, it's still very competitive. Stay vigilint!
