Tucker Carlson comes out of absurdity to write that Rev. Wright needs to be brought back up again
Bring Back Rev. Wright

by Tucker Carlson

Why won't the McCain campaign attack Obama for an association more damaging than Bill Ayers—the one with Chicago pastor Jeremiah Wright?

The McCain campaign's attempt to tie Barack Obama to terrorist-turned-professor Bill Ayers appears to have failed. Most people still don't seem to know who Ayers is. And there still isn't evidence that the two were more than acquaintances. By the end of the week, McCain will likely have moved on to another line of attack. The obvious question is: Why not Jeremiah Wright?

Unlike Ayers, the Rev. Wright indisputably was one of Obama's closest friends. Obama himself has said so. Nobody in America needs to be reminded of who Wright is. As long as you've decided to go after Obama's character and associations, Wright seems like the obvious place to start. The 30-second attack ad essentially writes itself.

1. Tucker never got over the fact that
he did a story on Rev Wright a year before anyone else was really interested, and was more or less scooped by youtube and Hannity a year later. Crawl back in your hole, Tucker.

5. McCain basically defend obama against wright back in march
he'd look like a desperate hypocrite for bringing it up now, despite obama, or anyone else's statements on the subject.

6. It's funny how the right just doesn't get it. Personal attacks are OVER.
The American people are sick of them, and they're not going to be moved by them. All these kind of attacks do is make McCain look out-of-touch and off-message. If he wants to bring up Rev. Wright after he already said he wouldn't, go right ahead. It'll hurt McCain more than Obama.

7. Tucker once again proves he's an asshole
as if there were any doubts. You'd think a journalist would have a keen interest in promoting fair politics and advocating for campaigns based on substance instead of sensationalism. Not Tucker the asshole. He wants smears and gutter politics to determine the outcome. What a chump.

8. Rev. Wright
I have to say, there was some hard to take truths in what he said. On the other hand Palin has Rev. witch doctor on her side, so which witch is worse.

9. Okay, then, if he wants to go that route,
then it's fair game for us to talk about Hagee and the other crazy pastor of McSame's that he only conveniently "disavowed" AFTER some of the crazy hateful stuff they said became public. And I assume, then, that it will also be fair game for us to discuss the Palins' truly nutball pastor and his truly nutball, anti-American bullshit (for instance, the Holocaust was "God's punishment" against the "unrepentent" Jews and they "deserved" such a comeuppance. And that it's America's duty to cause wars in the Middle East to bring about Armageddon. Among other such juicy gems). Oh yes, Tucker, and let's also discuss the Palins' membership in the Alaska Independence Party, which openly avowed hatred for the USA and openly states that they don't consider themselves to be Americans.

And Pat Robertson said some really horrible anti-American things about the causes of 9/11 and how we "deserved" it, but, of course, that's different, isn't it? Fucking hypocrites.

10. In terms of strategy, hes completely right
Wright has actually hurt Obama before, and they were much closer than Ayers was. This is something that could potentially drive voters, though I think even the braindead will care more about the economy.

of Kenyan witchdoctor Thomas Muthee praying over Sarah Palin, calling on God to protect her from all forms of witchcraft (after mentioning how the "Israelites" control banking)?

15. We had six weeks of non-stop Rev. Wright coverage from early March to mid-April
punctuated by a historical speech on race and Obama's eventual repudiation of Wright. That was enough for most people. Sorry.
