I don't like the way those GA. polls look from SUSA
considering that the Obama camp was to get high newly registered African Americans to come out in droves there only 26% of the vote there that's not encouraging unless SUSA polling is off. But there pretty good with there polls.

18. We have registered 400,000 new voters in Georgia.
I wish the OP had provided a link.

And from everything I have heard, the early voters are 40% AA.

2. Kidding right? Georgia was one of the reddest of red states. It is now pink.
Which is quite remarkable.

4. GA's electorate was 30% AA in 2004, so I don't understand why they have it as 26%. Especially when
you consider the first AA nominee is running, the black vote may make up 32-33% in GA.

19. I believe it may be nearer to 35%, all things considered
If you consider that there is a sizable chunk of McCain "base" that are staying home for a variety of reasons, I wouldn't be surprised to see the overall AA vote at 35% of the population.

I am a firm believer that come election night, we are going to be in for a multitude of surprises in the South. Once we get the data in our hands it will tell the full story of how successful the Obama campaign has been - whether he wins a given state or not.

6. This is a poor analysis. Of course SUSA could be off in their sampling.
Statistics allows for significant variance when samples are relatively small.

lol

>high newly registered African Americans

The Obama camp was pushing for Americans to register to vote. And they don't have to be "high". Nice try, though.

And it's "they're pretty good with their polls" ... and you are cherry-picking yours.

actually voted and he is leading in Georgia among REAL VOTERS.

15. Will Obama "get high newly registered African Americans to come out in droves?"
Do they have to be high, or is it ok if they are just newly registered? What if they come out in droves but are neither high nor newly registered? What if they're not African American but they are high?

Will there be marijuana sniffing dogs at the polls?

21. I just saw it in a different thread: 51 - 43, McCain. However, the AA
percentage does not strike me as correct. Plus in that same poll it shows early voters have voted for Obama over McCain 8%.

23. The new Survey USA poll of GA has McCain up by 7, but this poster is neglecting to point out
that the same poll among early voters, people who actually cared to go and vote (18% of the total in the state) Obama leads by six-points in a state that Bush won by over 20-points. Also, the number of black voters they are figuring in is only 26% and it will be at least 30% or more.

26. African Americans make up 29.9% of the population in Georgia.
If 26% of those who vote in Georgia are African American, that is very very good turnout among African Americans. Remember that only people ages 18 and older can vote!

22. African Americans make up 30% of the population of Georgia
so if SUSA is showing African Americans as 26% of the vote there that's pretty darn good.

35. AGGGGGHHHHHH!
How many of these threads re GA will there be this year?

IF you aren't working on the campaign here, would it be too much to ask to suggest that you INQUIRE first before posting negatives?

400,000 new voters.

Many African Americans here have NEVER been registered. They are now.

Furthermore, the state went blue last two elections. It was the vote switching device that the SOS aide turned in to Spoonamore which brought the state back to red.

yes, it is a close one here. But it is not a done deal. And a lot of volunteers have put their lives on hold for months to help turn Georgia blue. I hate finding out what a waste of time that all is EVERY time I read a thread here on DU about Georgia.
