Shout out if you agree that the Bradley Effect meme is racist towards white people.
I'm white and I've never allowed race to play a factor in who I vote for. My 75 year old grandmother from WVa feels the same way. My wife feels the same way. All my white friends feel the same way.

I think its time to call the MSM out on their racism towards white folks. We aren't all a bunch of closet bigots who lie about our voting preferences so to appear politically correct to a complete stranger over the phone. Thats a silly idea and its downright insulting. Its an insult to our intelligence and its a vicious stereotype that I will no longer tolerate.

So I'm calling for a stop to this racist meme that should have all white Americans hearing this garbage feeling downright PISSED!

We are smarter than that, you fools.

1. They are giving people the "OK" to be racist...
That's what I take from it.

2. Stating a fact is not racism
Racism is based on lies about a particular race.

It is true that *some* white people will not vote for a person of color. Therefore, to state that fact is not racism.

4. And some whites will not admit publicly to supporting Obama.
That is the more realistic scenario.

6. It is a prejudiced assumption because they act likes its going to have a huge national impact.
And in order to do so, a WHOLE lot of whites must be lying about who they are voting for and really won't vote for the black guy because of his color. Hence, in the way they are pushing it, they are insinuating that a vast number of white people are closet bigots. Explain to me again how that is a FACT. They aren't just saying that people won't vote for him because he is black... they are saying they are LYING to pollsters. In other words, a bunch of white people who say they will vote for Obama really won't because they are secretly racist. That isn't a "FACT", its complete bullshit is what it is. Not one damn thing about it that has any scientific basis to consider it fact. Period.

9. Hallelujah! Racism is Dead! Woohoo!!
Are you kidding me?? There are racists. Duh. Why does it bother you that it is acknowledged?

14. Um, that has nothing to do with the acknowledgement of racism... READ
There are plenty of racist whites that won't vote for Obama. I mentioned that. That has NOTHING to do with what I'm saying.

You are missing the point.

I refuse to believe that a significant number of whites are closet bigots who would lie about their voting preferences in order to avoid feeling embarassed over the phone. If there was any election changing power behind the so called Bradley effect, that would have to be the case. Assuming that the Bradley effect has any relevance in this national election, then one would have to assume that a LOT of white people would actually secretly feel that way. I'm insulted by that. And I'm within my rights to be.

3. Racists don't pretend to support black men when taking polls.
Edited on Mon Oct-13-08 01:34 PM by amitten
The whole concept is ridiculous.

A lot more people will probably pretend to be against Obama, and then actually vote for him (not wishing to offend their racist friends/families).

5. Whether its applicable here I cannot say
Edited on Mon Oct-13-08 01:38 PM by dbmk
But in every single election the last 20 years here in Denmark, the far right extreme party has always overperformed wildly compared to their polls and exit polls.

If people know that their standpoint is looked down upon by the majority, they will lie about. In some circumstances more than others.

And its not racist to say that some white people would do it, if they were of a certain persuasion. But then again, I haven't really seen this attributed to skin colour really.

7. naw, it's not even that evil. It's just a smokescreen to cover voter suppression.
If there are close swing states lorded over by GOP Lt. Governors, it will make it a little more palatable to rig the numbers and say "Well, sure, the exit polling says Obama won, but our ballots are what they are!"

12. It's outdated political science
It's like the professor who never updates his class lectures and continues to lecture semester after semester with the same old yellowing notepad, with notes written 25 years ago.

and get wrong the pulse of the nation.

I'm white and I could care less about the color of someone's skin.

What really boils me is power drunk morans who think they're entitled to win office JUST because they are white. White privilege is nauseatingly in play this election. Sarah Palin is proof positive of that.
