Hmmm. Gallup said just yesterday that "the race is, in fact, tightening."
Yesterday, when Obama led 50%-43%, Frank Newport wrote: "Obama led by double-digits for three consecutive days last week, but now his advantage is down to seven percentage points. Obama has led in each of the last three individual days' polling, but by less than double-digits each day, suggesting that the race is, in fact, tightening."

Since today Obama's leading by double digits, how strong must his numbers have been yesterday alone?!

Also, check THIS out: "Among a more broadly defined likely voter group that only takes into account current voting intentions -- not past voting behavior -- Obama's lead is the same 10 points as among all registered voters, 53% to 43%. This group represents approximately two-thirds of the general public, a significantly higher proportion than has turned out in any recent election."

1. Obama must have had a BIG day yesterday.
So don't be suprised if it tightens again in 3 days, when the day drops off.

2. I also won't be surprised if his lead grows when he has big days today and tomorrow, too.

9. it will be O: 52% and M: 47% by election day.
so do not be upset when the polls tighten. Remember, we'd rather be ahead than behind. Expect Cabin Drudge to announce "tightening" as well as the parrot MSM.

8. Well I'll be nervous until McCain concedes
I'm tensely optimistic but I've seen my hopes smashed to bits too many times. I don't see how McCain can win but that doesn't mean it isn't posible.

14. I'm with you.. until McCain (and his lawyers) concede, I won't even think of celebrating.
I'm cringing today at the "Champagne" thread going on here... Apparently none of those people were here for the horrific election day in 2004, when people were talking about champagne and already popping corks when we found out Kerry lost because of Blackwell in Ohio.

Folks.. there is NO lead large enough to ensure that it will not be stolen. All it takes is ONE or TWO key states to get fucked with by the republicans to turn this into crushing disappointment again, as it was in 2000 and 2004. I realize that many DUers are too young to have even voted in 2000, or even 2004, but it was a hard lesson to learn about celebrating too soon and getting cocky. we have work to do.

12. It's like clenching your fist
You can hold it tight, but ultimately you have to unclench it.
