Palin Today Says McCain Will End "Abuses Of Power" -- Despite Report Saying She "Abused Her Power"

http://tpmelectioncentral.talkingpointsmemo.com/2008/10/despite_report_finding_she_abu.php

Warming up the crowd for John McCain in Virginia Beach today, Sarah Palin said:

See, as a senator, John has confronted the corrupt ways of Washington and the wasteful spending and the abuses of power. As president, he's gonna end those once and for all.

Today of all days is an odd one for Palin to claim that McCain-Palin will end "abuses of power" in Washington, since the first line of the findings section of the Troopergate report released on Friday said...

For the reasons explained in section IV of this report, I find that Governor Sarah Palin abused her power by violating Alaska Statute 39.52.110(a) of the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act.

1. So she's saying he's dumping her from the ticket?
Hey, that's what he's got to do if he's ending abuses of power.

2. 'cause when you admire the AIP you can't complain about anyone who wants to "bomb the Pentagon and
the Capital" - in fact, you ADMIRE them, Ayers et al, too.

3. Obama spokesman Bill Burton was on the radio this morning
He said the McCain/Palin ticket is the first ticket when both people have been found to be censured or violated the trust. He said this was the first time in history.

4. She can say that because the media won't hold her feet to the fire about Troopergate.
They seem to want to just pretend nothing happened, or that nothing important happened.

5. It's no accident she said that, believe me.
It's part of their "create a new reality every day" strategy that they've been using for years.

Though Palin's use of the technique is pretty clumsy, like everything else she does, in general the Republicans have been pretty successful with it.

Well... successful in the way Charles Manson was "successful" in building a little "family" for himself.
