I swear my husband has a man-thing for Joe Biden.
I mean, don't get me wrong, he likes Obama. Likes him a lot. But put Joe Biden on TV or even mention him on TV, and my husband will stop anything he's doing to watch and listen. With 100,000% attention. And shush anyone who dares to speak while Biden is speaking. LOL.

I finally asked him today after he watched the Scranton speech why he seems to like Biden so much and he said it was the story of how he refused to leave his son's hospital bedsides to be sworn in, how he never moved to DC but commuted a long way all those years so that he could be with his kids. He said "any man that committed to his family is a good guy through and through. Take that to the bank."

Awww. Choked up. But it doesn't surprise me. To my husband, if you want to know what a person is like, look at how they treat their family and what kind of priority their family is for them. No wonder he trusts our ticket so much. They're both very devoted to their families.

over... This Colorado female would be all over Joe! He's a keeper, though and Jill knows it.

As lucky as I am! (That's how my husband is--nothing comes in front of his family.)

6. Who doesn't? That speech he gave today(I think...), the one about getting up, had
me choked up and cheering at the same time. What a guy. I'd pick him over Palin to be stranded with any day.

8. Here's another great story:
When Joe was a kid he and some other guys in the neighborhood built a clubhouse. When they were finished, they wouldn't let Valerie Biden (Joe's sister) in because no girls allowed. Joe said then I don't want to be a member either, and left with Valerie. I heard her tell that story once. My brother would have chucked me out the door. :7

9. Biden is fantastic. Any man of worth would like him. :-)
I see the same thing your husband does.

A good man who loves his family and his country. Barack is the same way...... BUT

Biden goes above and beyond.

I see PASSION in Biden. He is emotional in a way that Barack and Hillary aren't. And neither is Bill. I'm not saying they aren't that way behind the scenes, but Biden SHOWS it to us.

Biden seems to be the most genuine of the whole bunch in my opinion.

I'll even go this far: I really wanted Hillary to be VP.....

but I am JUST as happy with Joe Biden. Barack chose well.

10. So, does your nice husband have a single older brother? He sounds
nice, and that's always catchy. I think men relate well to Biden, he's not afraid to call someone out, always shows respect but knows how to put the knife in with a smile on his face. Of course, if your husband happens to be Irish, it's a DNA thing...

16. LOL, nope, only one sister.
He's the only son of the only son of the only son.

But I do agree he's a catch. Married to him 17 years and I wouldn't trade him in for all the money in the world.

19. Hell, we hardly knew who he was besides hearing his name a few
times here and there. (Ducking....since the election of 2004, we both sort of tuned out. But we tuned back in with the primaries this year. And we promise not to ever tune out again.)

But it's been fun "getting to know" both Obama and Biden. I've just been amazed by Biden's story.

22. I agree
I knew of Biden from his appearances on "Meet the Press" and that kind of thing. And he always seemed to me to be very knowledgeable about foreign policy and I thought he was an accomplished and eloquent spokesman for Dems. But I did not know about his personal bio, and I assumed he was rich, Ivy League background, he LOOKED like a senator. I would have not dreamed that he was 98th in wealth or that he rode the train every night or really any of the stuff we have learned. And since I am now working in the area of domestic violence he is VERY popular among co-workers for VAWA. The way he connects with people, his storytelling, and his REAL family values, he seems so genuine, I am THRILLED at him as VP. I thought Clinton/Gore was a strong team and I think these guys are even better!

But, seriously, I know exactly how your husband feels.

I always thought the old "which candidate would you want to have a beer with" question was pretty stupid.

But I'd like to have a beer with Joe Biden. Heck, I'd even invite you husband!

I do the same. I nearly get into car wrecks from inattention when catching him during one of his speeches on the radio. But don't tell my wife, please--or the next thing I know, she'll go out and buy a Biden halloween mask for herself! :)

30. My husband is not interested in politics. However,
I had the Biden/Clinton speech on today. I went to take my shower and came out with my husband on the bed watching Biden. He was glued to the tv. He even told my sons to be quiet while he was listening. Then later today we were driving and the roads were all crappy and he started repeating what Biden said about the roads. It was too cute because he pronounced Biden's name wrong when he said it. He has been out of the country for 6 months so he is really just starting to hear about the election. He was like, "Who is Palin?" when he returned. LOL He was cracking up about the joke where John McCain kept walking in front of the cameras (especially after I explained the debate to him). lol

34. Mine too! I think it has to do with the Scranton thing.
My hubby was born and raised in a Pennsylvania town very much like Scranton. He just recently learned Biden was from Scranton while watching a speech. Then in that same speech, Biden pulled off his jacket saying something like "Where I come from, you say it to the person's face!!" My hubby jumped up and cheered and has had a man-crush on him ever since. :D

37. Speaking as a garden-variety American male
I know where your husband is coming from. In the last month or so, Biden has become my favorite living American politician. Biden may, in fact, be a "great man", but what we like most about him is that he is a "great GUY". It's a guy thing.
