What does Joe Lieberman do after the election?
Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if, stripped of his committee chairmanship, he resigns, joins the American Enterprise Institute and takes up a gig as a Fox News contributor.

9. Lieberman will go back to being Lieberman
He will go back to being a US Senator. He will caucus with the Democrats because, except for the occupation and issues regarding Israel ,he is in step with the Democrats.

17. It's the only way he can preseve his "honor."
If he can't do it himself, maybe he can just throw himself on a cooking table at Benihana and let the chefs-in-training practice on him. Whoops! There goes Joe's nose into that chef's pocket! Oh, look, another one caught Joe's ear on top of his hat!

...I don't know why, but the Dems in CT can't win that governorship for squat...Holy Joe would run as a third party and might win as he did for the Senate...he's like the pustulent boil that never goes away.

19. His career is over after this election
The only thing he has clung onto was the narrow gap between rep and dem leadership in the senate. Once we have the Presidency and the pickup in the senate he's done. He will be tossed from any committee he is still on. All claims to any sort of power zapped. He will be done.

"What we stand for:
The Connecticut for Lieberman Party (CFL) rejects the fraud perpetrated on the members of this party and the citizens of Connecticut by Joe Lieberman when he used the creation of this party to get on the general election ballot in 2006. The CFL is an independent, anti-war, anti-corruption, pro-fiscal responsibility, pro-democracy party, that stands for individual liberties and real problem-solving in government. The CFL wants everyone to know that in the United States of America, voters are free to join any party they wish, and participate in the democratic process according to the laws of Connecticut and the United States.
"

Oy vey, Joe.... now TWO parties hate you. And I don't expect a lot of Republicans like you either, despite all the ass kissing.

34. My Schadenfreude Fantasy
Is that the democrats do strip him of any power he has in the democratic party and give him an undesirable office; that his staff wise up that they're working for persona non grata in both parties and quits, and he spends the rest of his term sitting behind his desk with the lights off, staring down at nothing with that droopy hound dog expression of his and mumbling about how unfair life is to him. Then I hope he runs again, and he gets his ass kicked because this time, the republicans will not care about supporting his campaign, and once he loses, he'll realize just how far he went in undermining the party's positions for his own personal glory and vendettas, and he'll have to live with the fact that everything that happened to him was his own damn fault.

35. I think he'll serve out the remainder of his term. And I doubt he will be kicked out of the caucus
since they need his vote for procedural matters to shut down fillibusters. So he'll stay an "independent Democrat." But I don't think he'll run for re-election in 2012.

43. my 2 cents
I think I know why the Dem's haven't burned him yet. I've lived enough life to know that the most annoying things continue to happen, on an all together irritatingly regular basis.

With that in mind, consider the possibility that after the election is done, we end up with 58 Dems, one socialist, and holy Joe. Thus making us reliant on Fucking Joe for 60 votes.

Which means he will continue to be a blight on us for another 4 years.
