McCain Doing Letterman Again After Mocking
McCain Doing Letterman Again After Mocking
October 12, 2008 11:14 AM EST | AP

NEW YORK — David Letterman and Sen. John McCain will get a chance to make up.

The Republican presidential candidate is scheduled to appear on Letterman's "Late Show" on Thursday.

It will be McCain's 13th visit to the CBS program but his first since he angered Letterman by canceling last month.

Letterman was unhappy when McCain sat for an interview with Katie Couric instead of him on Sept. 24.

At the time he said he first felt like a "patriot" to let McCain off his commitment to deal with the economy but "now I'm feeling like an ugly date."

A McCain spokeswoman said at the time that because of the economic crisis, the campaign "felt this wasn't a night for comedy."

2. God, why is letterman even giving him a platform
prior to the election? I hope he calls him a damn liar.

3. Should be interesting. My guess is he will be nice to him to his face.
Only Stephen Colbert has the guts to go after someone like him hard. Remember the bush media dinner where Colbert look straight into w's eyes and ripped him to shreds? That was truly amazing.

4. or maybe not!
Rush and O'Reilly might disagree with you about Letterman not going after blowhards face-to-face.

5. I hope you are right. But, they are pundits not politicians in the head of their party.
