Anti-Obama Fury Spills Over Into Down-Ticket Contests: "Bomb Obama"
By Greg Sargent - October 10, 2008, 12:22PM
The fury and loathing of Obama being whipped up largely by McCain-Palin-GOP rhetoric about the Illinois Senator is now spilling into down-ticket races, specifically the battle between GOP incumbent Saxby Chambliss and his Dem challenger:

Thursday's debate took place in front of a highly partisan crowd in the GOP stronghold of Middle Georgia.
Chambliss supporters waved "Saxby" signs and offered up a sustained "boos" when Martin mentioned Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama.

"Bomb Obama," one woman hollered.

This isn't a McCain rally, to be sure. But McCain could definitely have an impact on the overall climate if he called on the McCainiacs to calm down a notch or two and made a public gesture of some kind in order to let it be known that some behavior is simply unacceptable.

Asking the McCain campaign to stop insinuating that Obama is a terrorist is probably a bit much to expect. But as the leader of the Republican Party right now, he could let it be known that there is a line somewhere that shouldn't be crossed. Of course, that would require him to show leadership.

1. They have no one to blame but themselves. They got what they wanted and deserved.
Their every word testifies to their failure.

2. Thank you pirhana. This is getting frightening now. Some nut is
going to try this. Some nut is going to think that is what republicans want and that they should carry it out. Some nut will think that is what God wants.

This must be stopped.

3. I agree - I wonder if the Obama camp is getting as nervous as we are?
I'm beginning to think they should hire SS to send to McCain/Palin rallies.

Something is going to happen - I can feel it.

4. I'm also worried about his canvassers, even tho they probably wouldn't be going to these lunatics
homes, who knows if these lunatics just seeing them on their street would take some sort of criminal action. These people are deranged and unstable, period.

Barack DID NOT CONDONE THIS BEHAVIOR DURING THE PRIMARIES against Hillary. Of course NO ONE was making these kinds of remarks. Hillary only received a few boos. But Barack always condemned any one in the crowd who did boo.

These creatures are INSANE:scared:

7. By 'SS' do you mean Secret Service?
If you mean 'Schutzstaffel,' I'm afraid that would be a bit redundant. ;-)

10. You can't help but have a bad feeling about this. It's not tinfoil hat
stuff. Those people at the rallies are RW lunatics. They don't just turn into nice people as soon as the rallies are over. Hatred breeds more hate. The mob mentality is growing and publicity of it simply attracts more lunatics. The news medial can't just not cover it. But every time they do, the risk increases.

McCain and Palin are "God's vessels" and that Obama needs to be removed so "God's vessels" can take their rightful place.

I really hope the Secret Service has upped the manpower for Obama's detail.

11. It won't stop until either McCain puts a stop to it, OR there are arrests.
I'm not seeing either of those 2 things happening.

6. But it IS what they want: they're preparing for 4 to 8 years of hate, just like under Clinton.
They know they'll lose the election, so they want to poison the political landscape.
