1. I don't think the Corpo/fascists who are running things will do it...yet.
Barring some darker schemes (not to be ruled out), I think they need to--and plan to--permit Obama to be elected, in order to blame all the shit that's coming down now, and that will be coming down, and all the shit of the last eight years, on Obama and the Democrats. THEN they will steal it, in 2012 (and that may be Hitler II). Right now, they need a scapegoat, and a couple of years of drowning people in the "river of forgetfulness" of corporate monopoly 'news.' Then they will strike.

These Corpo/fascists have the easy--EASY!--capability to steal elections, with the entire country now using electronic voting machines, run on 'TRADE SECRET,' PROPRIETARY programming code, owned and controlled by Bushwhack corporations, with virtually no audit/recount controls.

It is just INSANE. We must change this. WE MUST!

But be very wary of a Congress (s)elected by Diebold & brethren "reforming" the election system. Likely--very likely--they will make things much worse. We need to stop any centralization/federalization of elections, because what they will likely do is mandate electronic voting, run by private corporations--it is not now mandated--using "TRADE SECRET' code, with inadequate, or miserably inadequate, audit/recount controls. Here's the "bait and switch": They may require a ballot or paper trail of some kind, but they will NOT mandate that it be COUNTED.

The best, and most hopeful, place to get real reform is the state/local jurisdictions, where ordinary people still have some influence, and where power over election systems still resides. If the Feds take over the system--directly or by Corpo-written mandates--then the entire voting system of the country will not only be privately run with 'TRADE SECRET' code, but it will become extremely vulnerable to presidential fiat. Our variety as states, and our organization into states, has sometimes been troublesome--certainly during the segregation era--but it is our strength against tyranny in this age of U.S. emperors.

2. The way the numbers are breaking, if the trend continues they can't steal it.
It'll be too obvious.
