The Republicans have never been so desperate and scared than RIGHT NOW
I'm sure you've all seen the videos on youtube and heard the stories of the wild crowds at the palin and mccain rallies.

i'm worried that the mix of financial crisis/ruin and crazed republicans may get out of control as they come closer and closer to losing this thing. once it's over, i'm worried that the country will explode.

i have never, ever seen them so scared.

they know what is coming. they have lost, and they know that this time, it's forever.

1. It's never "forever".... even the age of FDR only lasted 2 decades

Even the Democratic congress of 1954-94 only last 4 decades.

There will be a time of GOP rule again.... many years from now.... but it won't look like today's GOP.

There will be a political realignment. The GOP might split into two parties for a while.

And.... somewhere down the line, the Democrats will screw up. We always do.

7. I keep trying to tell people this, but they won't believe me. lol
Politics is cyclical. Always has been. And we should worry at the prospect of a single party controlling things for several decades. Even the one I'm currently affiliated with. I know I do.

13. The only constant is change!
Yes... I agree, the Repukes are crazy scared now! They fear and know they have lost this election!

They fear when Obama is sworn in:

They will be forced to give up their guns and their God

They will be forced to have the right to choose to NOT have an abortion!

They will be forced to not restrict others of the same freedoms they enjoy by giving gays the freedom to marry!

They will be forced to really think for themselves because the Dems will shut down Faux Noise and stifle the likes of Rush

They will not be able to keep others from receiving life saving treatments with stem cells because their version of God does not approve

They will not be able to send their sons off to a war to fight/die for oil under the illusion of being patriotic

Can you imagine how horrible it will be for them? So much is at stake here...
No wonder they are in a panic... who could blame them?

2. Yup, keep kicking them in the mouth, tie an anchor around their
concrete shoes, and if they cry out throw them an anvil.

They must be pushed to extinction, whatever damage they do in the struggle will be much less than allowing them even a breath of air.

10. That will be really funny, 12 people rioting in Oklahoma City
Seriously. These people aren't known for rioting. They do climb clock towers with high powered rifles tho... That is worrisome.

15. Don't mistake noise for numbers

News flash: most people are decent.

The vocal crazy nitwit minority, however, is becoming the face of the Republican party, and is going to keep "most people" away in droves.

16. Yup they are really desperate now.
As was stated either on KO or RM, the Republicans' internal polling must be really bad for them to try this ultimate last stunt.

McCain did pretty badly in his two debates. Obama ran rings around him in the "town hall" format, which was widely noted to be McCain's forte. On foreign policy, Obama scored multiple major hits on McCain, including the "Bomb Bomb Bomb Iran".

All the MSM was talking about was how McCain wouldn't look at Obama, call him by name, shake his hand at the end of the debates, called him "That One", etc.

Palin did better than expected, but SNL tore her up, and nearly everyone with a brain knows Biden cleaned her clock.

17. They are going to get crushed, and this will be the end of the Reagan coalition
It was only a matter of time before the on-its-face ridiculous grouping of theo-cons, neo-cons, paleo-cons and economic royalists blew itself to pieces. The Repukes are going to be badly fractured, and this is probably Waterloo for the fundies' role as "base." A new moderate-conservative alternative will emerge, but it could well take a decade or more to sort itself out. The theo-cons are widely perceived as racist, totalitarian wingnuts; the economic royalists have been decimated in the last three weeks, the neo-cons have been discredited so thoroughly that it is impossible to ever see them being a significant force in national politics again (and the name Bush has been made politically radioactive for a generation or two) and that leaves the paleo-cons.

Republicanism will never again look like it has for the past 30 years. What it will look like, who knows. I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see an openly fascist third party temporarily emerge based around the neos and theos, but the votes will never be there to win anything.

21. Not to me. I think uber partisanship leads to blind following...
and we see where that has gotten us.

I'm 100% behind Obama, but I shall continue to be 100% behind keeping all elected officials accountable.

20. Make no mistake I'm not calling for the permanent majority
just the end of our current day Republicanisim. I believe this will give the current third parties room to come to the table and maybe down the line a sane Republican party can contribute to the national dialog in a meaningful way.
