Added on edit: there's nothing particularly remarkable or newsworthy in the fact that Sarah Palin counts people like FDR and Diana among her distant cousins; so do probably millions of other people. Such relationships are the rule rather than the exception among people who share descent from a common ancestor group in a geographically limited area (in this case, 17th century New England colonists of English origin).
