Dear Fellow Democrat,
I think that we can see from last night's debate that Senator McCain is a little rattled. I know that he keeps saying we need a "cool hand on the tiller," but judging by his performance, that ain't him. For a US Senator and presidential candidate to refer to his opponent as "that one," is just plain rude.
But you can see why McCain is so frazzled. Simply put - he's not doing well. And as of yesterday's voter registration deadline, the news is even better for Democrats - and even worse for Republicans.
They won't have all the registrations counted until the end of the month, but here's where we stand as of now: 4.4 million registered Democrats in Pennsylvania, as compared to 3.2 million registered Republicans. In Philadelphia, the ratio of Democrats to Republicans has gone from 5-to-1 to 6-to-1.
But we can't take these numbers for granted. Just because these people are registered Democrats doesn't mean they'll remember to vote. And it doesn't mean they'll remember to vote for the whole ticket.....
26 days left folks. Thank you for all that you'll do each day.
Sincerely, T.J. Rooney, Chair
