CNN slaps down concerns regarding Mccain's health.
Edited on Wed Oct-08-08 07:59 AM by nc4bo
Dr. Gupta says that longevity runs in his family because his mother is 96 years old.

They conveniently forget that Mccains father died at 70 and grandfather died at 61, both of heart attacks. John Mccain is 72 years old. John Mccain also suffers from skin cancer.

Keep talking about Mccain's health. Ask why John Mccain has not released his entire medical record.

Sorry for errors, I'm on my laptop :S

1. Gupta is a flat-out moron - a paid shill
He's just another one of those so-called "intellectuals" that mascarade as a friend of the little people. Of course, he has an agenda that is anything but, especially when it comes to health care, pharmaceuticals, etc.

2. McCain is applying for probably the most stressful job in the world.
The Chicago Tribune recently tried to downplay any questions about McCain's health and age by saying that people in his age group often can live into their mid-80s. But people of his age group aren't running to be President of the United States. I mean, take a look at pictures of Presidents before they enter office and after they leave office. The change is often dramatic.

3. McCain was audibly struggling with his breathing all night.
He was either very nervous or not well at all. I vote for 'not well at all'.

5. That's what I'm thinking too. Somebody out there is asking questions
and they're trying to head it off before it gets legs.

I've been wrong before so...........

6. His jacket was too tight!
I thought the button was about to pop. Maybe if he'd found a jacket that fit, he'd have been able to breathe.

4. I really think the netchatter is reaching some ears - this story on CNN
seems to have come out of nowhere. The M$M is squealing about it all of a sudden, why?

The netroots have been asking why his complete health records have not been released. There's a petition out there (don't have the link atm) and Mccain hasn't been looking well lately.

7. health is a legit issue... BUT STOP DEMANDING HIS PRIVATE MEDICAL RECORDS o.0
It's a horrible suggestion that politicians need to release private medical data. Stop it.

Bring up health... fine.

He was clearly, visibly struggling last night but moving around and in talking. It's something valid to discuss and inquire about (perhaps he was under the weather or just stressed? either way, it's something we care about).

But folks need to drop this "medical records" stuff.

I'm sorry, but if you are going to run for president on a major party ticket and your VP candidate is a nut-bag loon, and you are 72 years old and have cancer, your detailed medical history ought to be public.

Sometimes we tie ourselves in knots with our sense of fair play and what is right and proper. John McCain is not a private citizen. His medical history is our business. He chose to make a sleight of hand show of releasing those records. It was curious when he did it, and now it is beyond curious. What the heck is he hiding? We have a right to know and your indignant posturing is ridiculous.

20. Why? We get the financial records and that's private for the rest
of us. So why not the medical records? If there is something embarrassing like incontinence I suppose there should be a way to shelter that( a doctor from the Dem side looks at the rest of the records privately?), but health is a biggie with Presidents.

Is his stiff gait due to torture? I know about the arms, but not sure about the stiff gait.

10. Well, Goofta is a shill, I had more faith in him when he started; but it is true that his mom...
was afforded the ultimate Navy wife status. I'd bet her stress load was different from having to order or receive sea worthy battle plans and enact them. She may have some longevity in her gene pool, but that can be enhanced by pouring tea with a nip while staring out to the horizon waiting for sails to return.

13. Gupta's an over-achieving fraud hiding behind his M.D. degree:
He is a sanctimonious putz who uses jargon carefully to give the impression that he is not only an expert in all things medical, which he is most certainly not, but that his opinion should count for something because he's a neuro-guy. Whereas these people are often very academic, they tend to be narrow in other views and relatively uneducated in many. also, he's good-looking and quite verbal, so that cures a lot of ailments regarding his inadequacies.

Michael Moore blew him away on that Larry King show that night...I rest my case.

16. How is the health of someone running for president not a concern?
I honestly don't get it. When I was hired at the job I currently hold, my employment was conditional on passing a physical. I'm just a lowly peon in a large NGO. If they were concerned that I be able physically to perform my job, how much more so should the American people be that someone wanting to be president is up to performing in that position? Last night McCain did not look at all well. His breathing was audible at times and he moved more stiffly than usual, as if in pain or from being tired. The kicker for my husband and I was when he and Cindy left the venue early, leaving the Obamas to talk and shake hands. As my husband put it, the star leaves the stage last. I told him that I truly believed McCain had had to leave because he was simply not up physically to being there any longer.

17. I noticed the breathing too. When I breathe like that I have bronchitis, or
asthma induced by allergies. A person with early emphysema (not to the level of needing oxygen support can sound like that as well.

I am also not 72 with history of melanoma x 4, a condition which is stealthily metastatic.

Give me a break. The truth of the matter is that this guy's health can make a turn for the worse at any moment and any time.
