Re: Debate...Great Point By Joe Conason...
John McCain's latest debate performance points up the cynicism of his recent attacks on Barack Obama's character -- which he plainly did not dare to repeat before the live audience on national television.

All that pre-debate, "The gloves are off" crapola was probably an attempt to get Obama to over-react, which he did not do!

3. It's easier to lie and disrespect
some one from afar. If McCain truly believes the lies he spews, the debate would have been the perfect forum to bring them up.

But he knows he's wrong, and President Obama, in his gracious manner, would have put McCain in his place.

4. I think it was Chris Matthews who noted last night...
...that they have "assigned" the dirt slingin' to Palin...McCain knows better than to pull that shit in a "town hall" format...

5. If I could draw, here's the cartoon I'd create...

An image of McCain at the podium, talking about how Palin has raised womens' issues across the nation.

Behind him, Palin should be seen with hair in curlers, wearing a robe and slippers and sweating over a stove with pots and pans labeled "Ayers," "Wright," and "Terrorist."
