"Wrong Way" Bush
In 1938, "Wrong Way" Corrigan, having been denied permission to make a trans-Atlantic flight, did it anyway and claimed that he just got mixed up and turned around. No one believed him, of course, but he stuck to his story.

In 2002, "Wrong Way" Bush, having a mandate from his nation to hunt down the threats to America, al Qaeda and Osama bin Laden, decided to go after Iraq instead, claiming that they were the real threat. No one believed him, of course, but he stuck to his story.

Wrong Way Bush.
