1. I love how Keith tortures Pat by reading the poll numbers
and even negative debate reaction from the National Review to McCain's performance. And Pat didn't seem too thrilled with the bailout idea either. LOL...Pat says that McCain left early because he was kicking himself for not bringing up Ayers! Hilarious.

2. Honestly, that's not quite what I thought he meant
Pat was speaking as an analyst, and I thought he made a good point -- that the Republicans EXPECT and DEMAND that McCain attack Obama on the character front, and that McCain is obviously reluctant to do so, or at the very least uncomfortable risking his own reputation by doing it to Obama's face.

I know I expected McCain to try to wedge Ayers in the debate tonight, and he didn't -- didn't even come close. So now I'm starting to wonder if Pat isn't right. Maybe McCain really doesn't want to attack Obama's character on live TV. Which is so odd, because it's obvious McCain has a lot of contempt for Obama. I think his contempt, though, is based on the fact that McCain feels he is owed the presidency, and realizes that the Ayers attack is a pathetic one.

I don't know, though. We'll have to see what he does in the next couple of weeks.

4. Maybe that's why he looked so horrible.
I've seen him on with Rachel a couple times and he didn't look that bad. Tonight he looked like he saw the whole wingnut regime flash before his eyes.
