McCain lost Virginia (and the election) with his call to freeze government spending

I'm serious. I'm a federal government worker and when there's a budget freeze then we start getting unpaid furloughs. I'd vote for Obama anyway, but even Republican federal workers have to feed their families so I'm sure some of them switched. McCain just lost Virginia with that answer and he probably lost Florida with his statement (honest though it may be) that future workers are going to get less Social Security benefits.

2. He isn't helping himself in Virgina....

with all his talk about the big bad evil DoD contracts either, if you aren't a federal worker in Va then you are a DoD contractor. That goes beyond the relatively "blue" portion of NoVa too, there are a lot of contractors down in the Norfolk/Hamptons/Va Beach area.
