8. Oh. My. God.
Looks RIGHT THE FUCK AT HIM and just puts Cindy up there to shake his hand. McCain should know Cindy doesn't even LIKE shaking hands.

You know she's tearing him a new one for making her touch the scary black man.

Do you have the video in real time?

42. While he shook his hand later, this is not out of context. McCain feels humiliated.
He's taking this bad polling far more personally than any candidate in recent memory. Dole, Kerry, even Gore, all dealt with their losses as a result of the people and process of democracy playing itself out. This spring Romney, Clinton, & Giuliani all handled their final wind-downs with more grace. They may not have liked losing, but none of them ended up being so impetuous about it as McCain is now.

I think the most recent bad sport in presidential politics was Poppy Bush in 1992, who apparently went through a major depression following his loss. But at least he waited until after the election before turning into a poor sport. McCain has already gone into anal retention mode. It's pretty sad, really. He's not the happy warrior type. I expect Sarah Palin to be perky as a chihuahua in her concession speech. I expect John McCain to be wan and doing a bad job of putting on a brave face that same night.

Despite being a sure thing, there's a pretty good chance he might not seek reelection.

31. agreed . . . they shook hands and embraced right after the debate . . .
this is indeed being taken out of context and made into an issue where there isn't one . . . I can't stand McCain either, but let's criticize him for real deficiencies (there are plenty), not those that are made up . . .

When I saw it happen it looked like McCain wanted Obama to greet Cindy. That's what occurred. This is not a snub. As much as I would like it to be.

to reciprocate. That is when Obama turned to Cindy, & Cindy was gracious enough to reciprocate.

44. Some of you can claim McCain shook his hand prior all you want, but it doesn't excuse the fact ....
McCain rebuffed a man, any man, who extended his hand in respect and kindness.

Sorry, this isn't how my parents raised me and it's probably not how you were raised either.

When you see a person putting his or her and out to you out of warmth, respect or kindness, you put any differences aside for the moment and shake the fucking hand being extended.

43. Not rude, intimidated.
McCain later mustered the courage it took to bravely shake his colleague's hand. This isn't an expression of his contempt, it's a display of his fear and humiliation. He simply can't emotionally accept that he's not the alpha of the pack.
