1. Yeah. What a crazy proposal.
That was his "game changer", I'm sure of it. His big solution to save the economy. Too bad it's completely insane.

2. Buying mortgages is stupid: you can't get an accurate value if
the government is in the market "paying the difference" on the very thing that can't be determined. It's a completely asinine notion.

The government CAN get banks to renegotiate principal, which is what they should do.

Personally, I cannot abide that a bunch of irresponsible people should get a house they couldn't afford in the first place, but I guess that's the only way to save the whole thing. The gov't buying mortgages, however, is just not feasible. It's a stupid idea.
