11. Let's start with the Palin family records
I want to know whose baby that is. And who had to leave the country for drug abuse.

13. They already are in many places.
I transcribe hospital reports from home using the internet. Secure channels, proprietary software, secure individual hospital databases, limited access by authorized log-in only.

One medical center I know is attempting to "go paperless" and has separate databases for all patient lab studies, doctors reports, nurses notes, and medications. They are accessed only by authorized personnel, and every attempt at access is logged by IP address.

They're not "floating around."

15. Lots of med records are already on line.
I have access to medical records of my clients, but I had to get clearance, and I have to have a password.

I'm not real happy about it, though, because I know those records could be hacked.
