"Individual responsibility"

"America should decide America's fate - not the rest of the world"

"The economic slump is temporary...we're on the road to recovery"

"Steady growth. Good, high paying jobs."

All were consistent themes in Herbert Hoover's speeches before and during the Great Depression; all are consistent themes in George W. Bush's speeches now during the recession.

As the MoveOnPAC commerical says: "How can you attack a problem when you don't know it exists?"

How is it that a cartoonist could see the danger, but the pResident could not? And it's not like anyone handed cartoonists a memo saying "Bin Laden determined to strike in the US"....
