Obama Hatred On Display Again At Palin Rally, Supporter Screams "Treason!"
In the latest instance of inflammatory outbursts at McCain-Palin rallies, a crowd member screamed "treason!" during an event on Tuesday after Sarah Palin accused Barack Obama of criticizing U.S. troops.

" said, too, that our troops in Afghanistan are 'air raiding villages and killing civilians,'" Palin said, mischaracterizing a 2007 remark by Obama. "I hope Americans know that is not what our brave men and women in uniform are doing in Afghanistan. The U.S. military is fighting terrorism and protecting us and protecting our freedom."

Shortly afterward, a male member of the crowd in Jacksonville, Florida, yelled "treason!" loudly enough to be picked up by television microphones.

At a Palin rally on Monday, television stations picked up audio of a crowd member calling Obama a "terrorist," while Dana Milbank reported that "ne Palin supporter shouted a racial epithet at an African American sound man for a network and told him, 'Sit down, boy.'" Also on Monday, at a McCain rally, one member of the audience yelled, "Kill him!"

1. These rallies are beginning to look like scenes at D.W. Griffith's
"The Birth of a Nation" (KKK Rallies)

2. I'm beginning to wonder if these "supporters" are plants.
Seems rather coincidental that all of these events have happened in the couple days since McCain started Shock and Awe II.

7. GMTA--I just posted the same
This sounds a little too convenient--that both "Kill him" and "Treason" could be heard that clearly, when the mics are not on the audience, but on the stage, far from the crowd.

9. Agreed.
The timing, and, as you noted, the volume, are both rather suspect.

It could backfire, however
Repukes aren't known for being subtle, and most of America has woken up to the types of games they like to play. If they keep doing this, it's going to become obvious that these rabble-rousers are planted, and it's going to make McCain/Palin look more stupid than they do already. NOT that I want them to continue. If anything happens to Obama, this country is going to implode. And all the while McCain/Palin would stand back, raise their hands, look innocent, and insist, "Hey, it wasn't us--it was the nameless rabble! We had nuthin' to do with it!" :grr:

12. That crossed my mind. However, it doesn't matter if they are or aren't.
Their actions are making news and used to the same means.

16. They are, without a doubt.
They're creating a myth in hopes that McPalin supporters will roll with it.

18. Question is, are they dumb enough to use the same plant at more than one event?

on edit: are we sure Palin's husband went back to Alaska? ;-)

20. I had that thought, as well.
They might actually be dumb enough to have the same guy make the comments.

4. Please tell me these ignorant racist assholes are audience plants
PLEASE tell me that they're Repuke operatives, and that regular American citizens aren't this willfully ignorant.

...expecting and fearing I will get nothing but the sound of crickets...

5. Dishonorable, disrespectful, unworthy of our respect
And to think that there was a time when I thought well of this man. John McCain has sunken to levels much, much lower than those that he chastised George Bush for when he ran against him back in 2000. Clearly, John McCain wants to be president in the absolute worst possible way.

"Treason" as a GOP term became meaningless after Ann Coulter's book
They throw the term around like it has no meaning.

6. I'm thinking those 3 who yelled inflammatory
remarks, "kill him", "terrorist" and "treason" were yelled by plants in the crowd to achieve a goal of the campaign..to instill the idea in the others.

8. They are dangerous people.
I cannot believe this kind of behaviour is being tolerated. Then Again, I realize who we are talking about.

Haven't people been arrested for inciting violence?

10. I can't watch that crap and I think we shouldn't give Palin the attention.
Attention = Power. In a strange way, I think she is feeding off our energy when we focus on her.

We need to remember she is attracting the most vile of the repuke base, so this sort of thing is typical for them; shouldn't shock anyone. These idiot Americans exist and doubt there's much we can do to change them.

Palin should be written off as an extremist because that's exactly what she is. I choose to put my energy in the positive to make her irrelevant.

I absolutely agree. WAnd anytime we mention her, we are feeding her power. She's a cipher.

11. These people are inciting violence. I really think they will be the cause of
extremely dangerous violence or at least attempted violence against our candidates. They already see how their words are getting people excited we already dealt with one death thread, "kill him", and now we have more threats in the future. If a lot of people put in the back of their mind before, it has now taken a move to the front because of the nastiness of the McCain campaign.

17. These people are Nazis. They have been vilifying liberals and now
Obama EXACTLY like the Jews were vilified in Germany and like the hate radio freaks in Rwanda did to the Tutsis.

They want to whip up the ignorant into a violent frenzy. They have been calling for our DEATHS for years now. And with their beloved Republican Party now going down in flames, they are like cornered mad dogs.

I fully expect violence, if not between now and the election, then certainly once Obama gets elected. They may not be able to get to him, but they will be happy to take out any of us they get the chance to. Or any random minorities they can.

19. Ironic, since it was McCain that actually committed treason during the Vietnam War
Nobody likes to bring this up, but McCain went against regulations and cooperated with the NVA. He also denounced the U.S. to better his own situation.

Of course, the Democrats are too polite to bring this up. But if this were Kerry four years ago, well...
