the NRA? Shouldn't he chastize them for having an over the top racist as Ted Nugent on their board of dirsctors? Shouldn't Dean point out to one and all that Grover Norquist was sick when he compared bipartisanship to "date" rape? If Howard Dean has all this sway with the gun crowd, shouldn't Dean ask the NRA rank and file to reject bigotry and ask that the present board be removed? shouldn't Dean tell them that they shouldn't be blacklisting people? That they shouldn't be afraid of Brittany Spears or any other artist?

5. I want to win and I oppose the NRA. They're Bush's shock troops
To me, sucking up to the NRA shows poor character and everytime I compromise on this in a candidate I'm disappointed. I excused Zell Miller on this for years but his speech to the NRA showed he had gone over the edge and shortly after that he had few freinds in the Democratic party for other reasons. Then the previous governor of Georgia, Roy Barnes got good marks from the NRA and sucked up to them with "operation exile" and all that bullshit. He still got beat by the gun crowd, they just told the grassroots, forget about the guns this year and focus on putting the Confederate battle flag back on the state flag. The extreme elements of the gun crowd are mostly the extreme element of the street fascists. These are the same people who said Max Cleland was unpatriotic.

14. I can't live up to Clark's high standards
Fighting against the NRA crowd is like wrestling pigs, they're dirty and they love getting dirtier. I'm against the most pro NRA candidate. If you guys win the nomination, I'll shut up about guns. If Dean wins the nomination, I'll go to the Hill District in Pittsburgh and hand flyers with NRA quotes. I might change my mind if Dean repudiates the NRA.

and in how many threads do you need to make this point, billbuckhead?

How, exactly, is Howard Dean responsible for what NRA members have to say?

12. Dean has had their "A" rating many times and he needs to explain to
the NRA-gun crowd-GOA and us, regular Americans, what this means. As far as bringing it up, the NRA is always in the news when the war isn't pushing it into the background. Grover Norquist, Ted Nugent, endless lobbying about legistlation in every statehouse. The enemies list came up again because of Britaany Spears somehow improbably being on it. Over and over again we hear that Dean has the gun crowd in the palm of his hand, so we should expect the famously opinionated Doctor to had something to say about this NRA blacklist.

18. What? Am I missing something, we are talking about the same NRA
right? The National Riflemans Association? How does being against or for the NRA have anything to do with being Homophobic? The peel my gun out of my cold, dead hands, let's have a rally in Columbine group = pro-gay? I don't get it, I don't equate the two issues, please explain!

4. Shouldn't Howard Dean be finding a cure for ebola?
Shouldn't Howard Dean be stopping dangerous meteors that are coursing toward earth?

Shouldn't Howard Dean be trying to invent a new form of corn that can grow in snow?

Shouldn't Howard Dean be concerned about magnetic pole shift?

Shouldn't Howard Dean be stopping the advance of old age?

6. Howard Dean said he was going to be blunt about race
Kerry and Clark famously have both said negative things about the NRA. Kerry saying he wanted to be the candidate of NAACP and not the NRA among many other things. Clark saying that those who wanted to use assault weapons should join the military.

7. If Dean should apologize for what NRA members say. . .
. . . shouldn't you apologize for gay bashers' actions, since you're against the 2nd Amendment rights of gay people to protect themselves?

16. The last Confederate flag flap came when Dean was talking guns
This thread is about Dean and race, It's unfortunate for all of this that these two topics intersect so much and if Dean becomes our candidate he'll have to address this intersection of guns and race from many angles. Dean is not in Vermont anymore.

I seem to read a lot more about racial hatred north of the Mason Dixon line than below it over tha past few decades.

Many Dean supporters do? Heres one of many ,<http://www.boomundo.com/dean/nra.htm>

Should the Democratic party POTUS candidate ask for the endorsement of a group that has an enemies list? My god? What has the Dem party come to?
