1. Absolutely. I don't know anyone not voting yes on 2,
but I will start telling people about it, too.

2. Doesn't CA already have cage-free eggs?
I'm a tad confused.

Is the bill designed to eliminate caged farming?

7. if you drive through the central valley, it's heartbreaking
to see little calves, enclosed their entire lives in small wooden cages, forced to stand upright, never able to sit or lie down

just one example of what this prop hopes to address

8. Okay, I've raised livestock....
...it's still not making sense to me. A calf that could stand should be able to sit in the same area...

Do you have pics, by any chance? (Maybe PM me, if it's gruesome?)

The mind boggles, but we humans are an odd lot.

9. CAFOs (Confined Animal Farm Operations)
Are commonplace in CA and also in other states.

Even Prop 2 is ridiculously inhumane in its minimum mandates.

All of which is just another symptom of tying the food production and distribution system to profit.

10. The bill simply says that the animals must have enough room to stand up and lay down and turn around
That is all and the corporate ag industry is going nuts trying to claim that it will destroy egg production, etc. Which of course is complete nonsense, let alone that these cruel practices should have never been allowed in the first place. The law says nothing about getting rid of cages, just that the animals must have enough room to turn around, stand up and lie down. A first step kind of improvement, really. But a very important first step as you can only imagine how horrible it is for these animals now.

Please vote yes on 2
