COMMUNISTS AMONGST US
Palin Quoted Reagan Calling Medicare Communism

Alaskan dingbat Sarah Palin proudly quoted Ronald Reagan last night, you betcha. So what was that weird quote about, anyway? It’s from this LP propaganda record, part of a “campaign organized by the American Medical Association to block the passage of Medicare.”

At Wonkette's above link or here at Youtube.

Ha ha, she wants to end Medicare, to stop the communists, and make old people die. She hates old people.

4. I think they walk hand in hand with corporate interests. Remember how they pushed the
medicare prescription medicine bill?

When an application for membersip came to me from AARP after that, I wrote on their form what I thought of them, and mailed it back in the prepaid envelope.

6. Technical clarification..
I believe he made that comment about the move to add the disabled (of any age) to the Medicare program. Medicare itself, along with Medicaid, was signed into law in 1965 by Lyndon Johnson.

7. Reagan quoted that in 1961.
http://www.minnpost.com/ericblack/2008/10/03/3758/palin_quotes_reagan_whats_that_about

Something Palin didn't mention is that Reagan said it in a recorded message, sent around the country by the American Medical Association in 1961 as part of its advocacy against the creation of the Medicare program. The threat to freedom that Reagan referenced was represented by the creation of Medicare.
