One would think so. The film/Broadway show is about a window washer, J. Pierrepont Finch, who reads a book, called,
How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. The book is his guide. He walks into a mailroom job at the company whose windows he's washing. By the end of the week he's running the company.
There are many gems in this film/show:
The book tells Finch, "So you are now a Vice-President.... You have done beautifully. Unless you are Vice-President in Charge of Advertising.... There is only one thing that can save you: you must get a brilliant idea,"
Finch presents "his" idea: he will hide five thousand shares of company stock in each of the ten offices around the country and give the audience weekly clues as to their whereabouts....Finch explains that each clue will be given by the scantily-dressed World Wide Wicket Girl: Miss Hedy LaRue.(This idea becomes a disaster when people destroy the company offices searching for the prize.)
The book tells Finch, "How To Handle a Disaster. ...we suggest that your best bet is to review the first chapter of this book: How to Apply for a Job."(The head of the board of directors wants to fire everyone. But Finch sings that "Mediocrity is not a mortal sin" and everyone keeps their job. Luckily, the film was fiction.)
